Burglar to Judge: Cut My Sentence And I’ll Give Stolen Ferrari Location

Gloucester, UK: In the hope of getting a shorter jail term, 27-year-old Ashley McNulty who stole a rare Ferrari has offered to return it.

Crown Court heard that McNulty thinks he knows the whereabouts of the classic silver Ferrari 550 and can have it handed over to police within a fortnight.

The judge agreed to delay sentencing until November 25 to see if McNulty is truthful.  The judge had been told that the car is one of only four of its kind in the world.

McNulty pleaded guilty to burgling a house in Southrop, and stealing the Ferrari, a Porsche, four guns, a gas powered air rifle, fishing gear, and candlesticks.

Asking for a delay in sentencing, a defence solicitor said: “The stolen Ferrari is a very rare one. It is worth almost half a million pounds.  The recovery of a car worth £500,000 would reduce the total value of the stolen property significantly and it may make a difference in relation to sentence.”

The judge said: “It won’t do any harm!”
