Shawnte Hardin

Shawnte Hardin faces 44 criminal charges after Ohio investigators found the cremated remains of 89 people at an abandoned church near Akron. Investigators say that Hardin handled and mishandled funeral services for scores of Ohioans from Summit, Cuyahoga, Franklin and Lucas counties since 2014 without ever obtaining a license. Charges, include representing as a funeral director while unlicensed, abusing a corpse, failing to file taxes, passing bad checks and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Hardin's lawyer has said his client had good intentions and was only trying to help the poor bury their loved ones.
