Evidence is being given at an inquiry launched in 2021 that is examining what action was taken against sub-postmasters. Hundreds of post office operators were accused and convicted of stealing money when in reality there was a fault in the Horizin IT system. Some were even imprisoned. They are finally to receive compensation and have their convictions quashed by parliament within months in an unprecedented move designed to draw a line under one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British history.
