Calais ‘Jungle’ children with nowhere to sleep

Aid workers say about 100 unaccompanied minors were left inside the “Jungle” with nowhere to sleep overnight.  This is in spite of French officials claims the camp is now empty.

Caroline Gregory of Calais Action, said, “we were begging the French authorities to actually do something about the refugee children and nothing was done.”

The UK Home Office said French authorities were responsible for “all children in Calais during the clearance operation – including those being assessed for possible transfer to the UK”.  234 minors have been brought to the UK since last week.
