Indiana: Trial for the man accused of murdering his 6-week-old son in 2014 went to the jury Friday afternoon. Willie Wilson is accused of killing his son, Delano Wilson, after he lied to police about the child’s abduction in August 2014.
Wilson reported an abduction, saying he was walking down an alley when a man and woman robbed him and took the baby away.
In February, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office released a 31-page probable cause affidavit on Wednesday outlining its case against Willie Wilson. Police had doubt of the abduction after hearing a call to 911 officers.
Wilson can be heard telling dispatchers in a 911 call last August: “Yeah, someone just kidnapped by daughter, uh, I mean my son.” Detectives think the infant is dead; the body has not been found.
“There are things that can kill people and are accidental, and there are things that are intentional,” former deputy prosecutor Mark Busby said. “In this case, there’s no coroner’s report to tighten that up.”
Strong evidence was unveiled when the FBI noticed Wilson visited 24 different websites about missing children shortly before he reported his own son missing.
