Jose Morales is charged with murder and evidence tampering in the death of Christine Holloway, 43, the mother of his baby daughter, Vanessa Morales. Following a wellness check on December 2, 2019 police forced entry to her Ansonia, Connecticut home and found her naked, lifeless body brutally beaten in the bathtub. There was no sign of 1-year-old Vanessa. Vanessa is currently still missing and Morales is also considered the prime suspect in Vanessa's disappearance. The medical examiner said Christine's death was the result of blunt force injuries to her head and torso. The investigation led detectives to donation bins in Derby and Hamden, where they found baby toys, a left pink infant shoe, personal papers of Holloway's and a man's T-shirt - all stained with Holloway's blood. A matching right pink infant shoe was located in Holloway's home. Police never found Vanessa's car seat, nor her backpack nor her polka-dot comforter and her favorite teething ring. That led police to believe someone may have taken some items to care for her.
