Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer faces two misdemeanor criminal charges over a confrontation with a Black newspaper carrier. Troyer faces one count of false reporting and one count of making a false or misleading statement to a civil servant for claiming to an emergency dispatcher that the carrier, Sedrick Altheimer, had blocked his car in and threatened to kill him.
