Raul Valle

Raul Valle is charged with murder and three counts of assault after a fight between teens from rival schools in Shelton, Connecticut escalated into a deadly stabbing of 17-year-old James McGrath. Valle, who was 16 at the time allegedly became involved in a fight on May 14, 2022 at a house party for St. Joseph's High School students. After that confrontation ended, Valle and a group of friends allegedly drove to a second party about a mile away, where students from Shelton High School were gathered. There a brawl started in which Valle allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed four people. Valle has rejected two plea deals offering 40 years in prison. In addition to a charge of murder in McGrath's death, which is punishable by 25 to 60 years in prison, Valle also faces three counts of first-degree assault, class B felonies punishable by up to 20 years each. The jury may consider lesser included charges such as first-degree manslaughter, which would be punishable by up to 20 years.
