Todd Kendhammer, 47, of West Salem, was guilty of first-degree intentional homicide in the September 2016 death of his wife, Barbara.
Prosecutors contend Todd Kendhammer fatally beat his wife of 25 years and tried to conceal her death by staging a freak car accident.
Kendhammer says she died when an airborne pipe pierced his windshield and struck her in the head. Kendhammer reported to police that a pipe came off of a truck and gone through the windshield of the couple’s car, impaling his 46-year-old wife on Sept. 17, 2016.
She died a day later.
Police, however, found evidence that this wife had been beaten severely.
