Prophet Shepherd Bushiri Hearing

The self-proclaimed prophet, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, known to his followers as ‘Major 1’ or ‘Papa’ is facing charges related to fraud and money laundering, emanating from illicit business activities that allegedly contravene the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. His co-accused are his wife Mary and Landiwe Ntlokwana.

They are charged with fraud, money laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act amounting to R102 million. The alleged criminality is tied to the pastor’s property empire, which forms part of an investment portfolio worth roughly $150 million.
