Lamar Brooks Sentencing

Lamar Z. Brooks killed Rachel Carlson and her 3-month-old daughter, Alexis Stuart, in their vehicle in Crestview.

Brooks was to be paid for the job by his cousin, Walker Davis Jr., who wanted Carlson dead after she tried to get child support payments from him (Davis was not the father of Carlson’s child).

The money was to come from a life insurance settlement Davis took out on Stuart in February 1996.

Davis received two life terms for his role in the killings.
