Kody Lott Trial

Kody Austin Lott, 22, is charged with the murder of Lauren Landavazo and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the shooting of Makayla Smith.

Landavazo and Smith were shot in an alleyway on Sept. 2, 2016 while walking home from McNiel Middle School.

Lott was arrested two days later on a tip to Wichita Falls police.

A caller reportedly had seen a man enter an apartment with what appeared to be a rifle or rifle case. The caller gave police the vehicle’s tag number. Officers spotted and stopped that vehicle in a parking lot and arrested Lott.
