Joel Guy Jr. is accused of killing his parents in their Hardin Valley home, dismembering their bodies and trying to dissolve their bones.

Guy was a Louisiana State University student and lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Joel Guy Sr., 61, and Lisa Guy, 55, had been paying his bills, but they were tired of it. Authorities allege the Guys broke the news to their son over Thanksgiving 2016 that they would no longer support him financially, so he killed them.

Guy denies the charges, which include two counts of first-degree murder.

Lisa Guy’s severed head was found in a pot of boiling liquid on the kitchen stove, her husband’s severed hands on the floor of his bedroom and the couple’s severed torsos in plastic containers in a bathroom.

Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen is not seeking the death penalty in the case.
