Eric Boyd Trial

Eric Boyd, 47, is accused of the kidnapping, carjacking, rape and slaying of Christopher Newsom, 23, and his girlfriend, Channon Christian, 21, in Jan 2007.

Boyd’s trial is the eighth in what remains one of Knoxville’s most shocking, brutal crime sprees. Prosecutors waited years before seeking charges against Boyd as the case against him was entirely circumstantial.

Following prosecutions Lemaricus Davidson is on death row, Letalvis Cobbins is serving life and Vanessa Coleman and George Thomas are seving jail sentences.

Boyd claims he wasn’t there when Newsom and Christian were attacked and slain.
