Dacoby Wooten Trial

Dacoby Wooten has admitted to killing his one-time girlfriend Dav’niesha Bryant.

Prosecutors say 24 year-old Dav’niesha Bryant did everything right. After countless threats by her ex-boyfriend Dacoby Wooten, she called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and got a restraining order.

Prosecutors say Wooten made good on that promise a month later when Bryant, the mother of his three children, was murdered.

Deputies say he went to her home and shot her, even as her mother begged him not to. The police report says Wooten tried to shoot her mother as well, but missed.

Wooten admitted killing Bryant in open court. But his defense is insisting it was a crime of passion.

The difference between premeditation and a crime of passion could be the difference between life and a death sentence for Wooten.
