Final Crown Witness in New Brunswick Python Trial

The Crown may call its final witness today in the criminal negligence trial of Jean-Claude Savoie; two young boys were killed by Savoie’s African Rock Python during a sleepover in his home.

Yesterday, the pathologist who autopsied the boys, said they died of asphyxiation when the snake coiled around them and repeatedly bit them .

It’s believed the python fell into the living room where the boys were sleeping after escaping its enclosure through a ventilation duct.

Should the Crown finish today, the defense is expected to present its case to the jury on Monday.
