Protecting human rights

KUWAIT: Speaking at a press conference, Chairman of the Kuwait Association for Basic Elements of Human Rights, Dr Yousef Al-Sager,  stressed that developments in protecting human rights have led to considerable changes in NGOs’ working patterns.  In collaboration with the UN’s Human Rights Commission in the Middle East the association will hold a workshop on following up UN recommendations on human rights today at its headquarters.

PAAET meeting
Dr Mubarak Al-Tharwa , Head of the PAAET academic staff syndicate announced that the syndicate received PAAET Director Dr Ahmed Al-Athari and his deputies to discuss a number of academic and administrative issues.

Expropriation Department
The Expropriation Department denied any intentions to purchase land plots still owned by citizens in Salmiya and Jleeb (for the time being).

10th of Muharram
MPs Abdullah Al-Tamimi and Saleh Ashour urged the government and various government and private establishments to excuse the absence of employees on Ashoura, the 10th of Muharram, which commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein.
