Jilson Avelar-Rodriguez

Jilson Avelar-Rodriguez is charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of Nicholas Milanovich, 23, and Julia Wright, 21. On September. 30, 2018 Wright was found outside their San Antonio apartment and Milanovich was found inside the apartment in his bed. The investigation into Avelar-Rodriguez began when a little over a month later an unidentified source told police in November 2018 that they knew who killed the couple. The tip led police to Avelar-Rodriguez's girlfriend, who allowed an officer to search their apartment. During the search, police found 9 mm ammunition manufactured by Browning and Hornady which was the same type of ammunition recovered at the crime scene. A second search found a lockbox stuffed behind a washer that contained Wright's medicine. The trial is a non-death penalty capital murder case. If Avelar-Rodriguez is found guilty he will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
