Gayla Grise

Stewart County High School counselor Gayla Grise was fired after admitting to altering grades for five high school students. Grise was charged with conduct unbecoming a member to teaching a profession and insubordination. A Stewart County teacher reported unauthorized grade changes to Stewart County High School principal Ben Duncan. The grade change, an investigation concluded, was in an effort to get the student enrolled in an Austin Peay State University dual enrollment class. Further grade changes were then discovered. Grise admitted to making the changes.
