Sigfredo Garcia, 37, and Katherine Magbanua, 34, are charged with the murder of Dan Markel. Investigators say Garcia was hired by the family of Markel’s ex-wife, Wendi Adelson, to drive from Miami to Tallahassee to kill Markel. Both Garcia and Magbanua contend they are innocent and had no involvement in the murder. Garcia faces the death penalty and Magbanua faces life in prison.
