Otis McKane is accused of gunning down San Antonio Police detective Benjamin Marconi.

According to investigators, Otis Tyrone McKane, 31, killed Marconi while he wrote a ticket citation for another driver pulled over in front of SAPD’s Public Safety Headquarters.

Marconi, who was assigned to SAPD’s Special Victims Unit, was picking up an extra shift on traffic patrol.

One witness who happened to drive by at the time of the murder, told police he had a feeling something was about to happen when he saw a man drive up behind Marconi’s patrol car, get out of his black Mitsubishi Galant and walk up to Marconi’s window. The witness said he saw the man fire two gunshots and then saw Detective Marconi slumped over in the front seat of his patrol vehicle.
