Daniel Tate, 20, is accused of first-degree homicide for the strangling death of 17-year-old Olivia Mackay.

Tate is accused of killing Mackay after meeting her online and setting up a date.

Prosecutors allege Tate and Mackay went to the beach at Pennoyer Park, along with Tate’s friend Jamari Cook, and that Tate strangled Mackay there.

After killing her, prosecutors allege, Tate put Mackay’s body in her car and drove to a rural road in Racine County, dumping her body there. She was found the next day.

Cook, who is charged as a party to the crime, is expected to testify against Tate at trial.
