19-year-old Damon Smith has today appeared in court charged with making an explosive substance after a suspect device was found on a London Underground train. He is accused of unlawfully and maliciously making or having in his possession an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.
North Greenwich station was evacuated last Thursday during the alert causing major disruption.
Mr Smith, from south east London, was remanded in custody until 17 November.
