Harold Martin, a former NSA contractor, is accused of stealing classified information and is due to appear in Baltimore federal court today. A Navy veteran, Martin is expected to ask to go free at his first court appearance since he was charged.
Prosecutors say they seized 50,000 gigabytes of information from Martin and called the scope of the crime “breathtaking.” Martin’s attorneys claim he never meant to harm his country.
