An intruder was shot during a break-in at supermodel Miranda Kerr’s mansion in Los Angeles, it has been reported.
Police said they were called to a home in Malibu after a “physical altercation” between an armed guard and an intruder.
Neighbours said the mansion belongs to Australian supermodel Kerr, local TV news station KTLA reports.
During the incident the security guard reportedly shot the intruder in the head, while the guard was stabbed in the face.
Police said they were both taken to hospital – the intruder was in a critical condition with non-life threatening injuries and the guard was said to be in a stable condition.
In a statement Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said: “There were no occupants in the house at the time of this incident.”
“The incident took place on the property, but not inside the house.”
Police tweeted a picture of medics providing care to a “stabbing victim” being airlifted to hospital shortly after the incident.
