Julio Foolio Murder

Prosecutors say in the early morning hours of June 23, 2024, as 26-year-old artist Julio Foolio (real name Charles Jones), the 'Voo Doo' hitmaker, celebrated his birthday in Tampa he became cornered in a hotel parking lot. That is where three gunmen opened fire, killing him and injuring three others. Surveillance video recorded three shooters firing at Foolio's vehicle in the parking lot, killing him. Foolio was a part of the 6 Block Gang which had feuds with rival gangs, ATK and 1200. The feuds spanned over a decade with dozens of murders by and against both sides. Court documents accused Alicia Andrews, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy of traveling from Jacksonville to Tampa on June 22, 2024, in two separate cars to find and kill Jones in retaliation for an ongoing Jacksonville gang war. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty against Alicia Andrews, who at an earlier trial was found guilty of manslaughter, finding she helped plan the ambush but was not guilty of first-degree murder or conspiracy. She was also acquitted of conspiracy to commit murder. She is awaiting sentencing in Florida after a successful appeal removed the original judge due to bias concerns. However, prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against her four co-defendants at their trial. The four defendants will be tried together and one jury will hear the case against all four men who are each charged with first-degree murder.
