James Staten, owner of Olympus Pools, faces 35 felony charges. The Florida Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution accuses him of abandoning his customers’ pool projects and using $1.3 million of their money for his personal gain. Staten is also facing a lifetime ban from owning another pool company in Florida. At the time of his arrest in 2023, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said he took more than $1.5 million from at least 140 customers across the Bay Area. Detectives said he was living a lavish lifestyle with trips, jewelry and even tickets to the Super Bowl.
