Actor-Musician Drake Bell Sentenced to Jail

The actor-musician Drake Bell has been sentenced to 96 hours behind bars for his second DUI.

The “Drake & Josh” star Bell was arrested for DUI in December 2015. He was pulled over by police after being seen driving erratically, including swerving and speeding, in Glendale, California. Cops smelled alcohol coming from his car and conducted a field sobriety test, which he failed. He then refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

Consequently the former child star was then booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and issued with a citation. In early January 2016, Drake was officially charged with misdemeanor DUI. At the time, it was said he faced a minimum of four days in jail, in addition to a license suspension.

TMZ has reported that Bell has accepted a plea deal that calls for 96 hours, or four days, in Los Angeles County lock-up, as well as four years of probation.  Bell will also have to participate in an alcohol education program. It’s unclear when he’s expected to surrender for the jail term, and it is also not known if it’s possible he’ll be released early due to jail overcrowding.

Bell’s previous DUI conviction was in 2009. His repeat offender status mandated jail time as part of his sentence now. Bell has not mentioned the situation on social media.
