Kenan Ivery

Kenan Dason Ivery, 36, is accused of fatally shooting off-duty Akron police officer Justin Winebrenner in an East Akron, Ohio, pub. Ivery is facing an 18-count capital murder indictment and could get the death penalty after being convicted on aggravated murder charges. Prosecutors say that Ivery shot Winebrenner in the early hours of a Sunday morning, Nov. 16, at an East Akron pub following an earlier dispute there. Winebrenner, 32, was off duty and unarmed at the time. Witnesses told police investigators that the shooting occurred after he attempted to intercede and defuse the situation. Four other pub patrons, including another off-duty police officer, were wounded.
