A reporter and television personality, Erin Andrews is seeking $75 million in damages, accusing the hotel and others of allowing Michael David Barrett to book rooms next to her and to rig peepholes through which he filmed videos of her changing clothes. Court documents say Barrett then posted the videos on the Internet. In her lawsuit, Andrews said the incident happened in 2008 at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University, while she was visiting the city to cover one of the university's football games.
