David Murdock

David Marshall Murdock is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend Lisa Lorraine Bunce, 56, on Jan. 5, 2019 while she was visiting friends in Florida. Murdock faces a first-degree murder charge. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty if Murdock is found guilty of the murder charge. He also faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, armed burglary of a dwelling and shooting into a building. Bunce had previously fled Florida to Ohio because of domestic violence. She was killed just days before she was to return to Ohio. Murdock had learned she was back in Florida and went to her friend’s house in the Sweetwater Golf and Tennis Community in Haines City where he shot dead Bunce and injured her friend, Sandra Andrews. The two women had suffered bullet wounds to their heads. At the hospital, Andrews identified Murdock as the shooter. Murdock had dialed 911 and told the call taker he had 'to get rid of the devil'.
