Bradley Quist is charged with alternate counts of felony manslaughter for allegedly assaulting 61-year-old Ronald Witchey, who died in May 2015. On June 1, police in Aberdeen, South Dakota, responded to a report of an unconscious assault victim. Officers found Witchey, who was not breathing and had no pulse. Officers performed CPR and Witchey was taken to Avera St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The pair allegedly became involved in a fight ove a $400 debt. Bradley Quist has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. If convicted, Quist faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $50,000 fine. |
