Michigan State Senator Virgil Smith faces multiple felony charges after allegedly firing multiple shot at his ex-wife's car. Smith is charged with assaulting a woman, his ex-wife and girlfriend, after a party on May 10. He was arrested for assaulting her and firing rifle shots at her 2015 Mercedes Benz. She was not injured in the incident, but the car was damaged by the shots. Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy charged Smith with felonious assault, malicious destruction of property $20,000 or more, domestic violence assault and battery and felony firearm.
