Vernon King 'Keno' Dixon was guilty in the death of Avante 'AB' Boyce, 19, the son of Pastor Darrell Boyce, described by many as a behind-the-scenes helper of families who lost loved ones to gun violence. Dixon had given a ride to municipal court to the younger Boyce and EV Lewis, Dixon's stepdaughter, so they could pay some tickets. They went to a pavilion at an apartment complex where a fight erupted between Lewis and two of Dixon's daughters. Dixon and Boyce separated the fighting women. However, as Dixon was driving away he shot Avante Boyce.
