Tiona Moodley and her boyfriend Darren Wilken face charges for manufacturing and distributing child pornography, as well as money laundering. Wilken also faces additional charges, including contravening the Drug Trafficking Act, possession of stolen property, fraud, and the acquisition and use of proceeds from unlawful activities. Wilken was arrested on January 17, 2025 during a search-and-seizure operation at his Midrand residence in Gauteng, while Moodley, a web designer, was apprehended in Houghton, Johannesburg on January 23, 2025. More than 10 million images of child pornography were found in hard drives in their rented property in Midrand, while money laundering was added to the charges after a sum of money was found on the property. Electronic devices containing child sexual abuse material, along with drugs and cash, were also seized.
