Timothy Herrington Jr is accused of killing former Ole Miss student Jimmie 'Jay' Lee in 2022. He is charged with capital murder. Investigators believe Herrington and Lee had a sexual relationship, and messages between the two show Lee went to Herrington's apartment the morning he disappeared. Minutes before Lee arrived at his apartment Herrington reportedly searched 'how to strangle someone'. Lee was reported missing on July 8 which is the day Herrington was allegedly seen on video driving Lee's car. Lee has never been found and a judge has now declared Lee legally dead. The punishment for capital murder is the death penalty or life in prison.
