Timothy Bernard Hawkins, 45, is charged with first degree premeditated murder and felony murder. in the murder of a Detroit woman. Authorities said Avril D. Taylor was found Jan. 7 in the basement of her home. She was 48. Taylor was found at about 1 p.m. when a friend went to the home to borrow something. Hawkins was taken into custody shortly after he was seen driving Taylor’s car prosecutors said. Hawkins is accused of fatally striking Taylor in the head and taking personal property from her home.
