Nya Thao is charged with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm in the killings of three men at a rural West Salem quarry, allegedly as part of a dispute over $600. 24-year-olds Nemo Yang, Peng Lor, and 23-year-old Trevor Maloney were shot to death in July 2021. Thao is accused of being the shooter, firing the gun under the orders of Kham Rattanasack, who is now in prison for his part in the murders. Each homicide charge carries a life sentence if convicted. |
