Nicholas Jordan is a former UCCS student accused of killing his roommate and a woman inside a dorm. The bodies of Samuel Knopp, a gifted music student, aged 24, and Celie Rain Montgomery, a single mother to two daughters, aged 26, were found in a dorm room on the morning of Friday, February 16, 2024, after campus police were called to investigate reports of gunshots. Jordan was arrested 2 days after the incident. Witnesses say that Knopp and Jordan were roommates and had clashed numerous times where Jordan was reported for unsafe living conditions and smoking marijuana and cigarettes in the room. A witness claimed that a few weeks before the murders, Knopp and Jordan had argued over a bag of trash. Knopp collected the bag of trash and placed it near Jordan’s door, then “Jordan threatened Knopp and told him that he would 'kill him' and there would be consequences if Jordan was asked to take out the trash again.
