Michigan Fake Electors Case

Michigan was one of seven states where 'fake electors' claimed that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election in their state. On July 18, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel criminally charged the 16 individuals in Michigan who signed legal documents on December 14, 2020 falsely claiming to be electors for Donald Trump in the electoral college, despite Trump having lost the state by a margin of 154,000 votes. Count 1 – Conspiracy to Commit Forgery; Counts 2 and 3 – Forgery; Count 4 – Conspiracy to Commit Uttering and Publishing; Count 5 – Uttering and Publishing; Count 6 – Conspiracy to Commit Election Law Forgery; Counts 7 and 8 – Election Law Forgery. Those charged are: Kathy Berden, William (Hank) Choate, Amy Facchinello, Clifford Frost, Stanley Grot, John Haggard, Mary-Ann Henry, Timothy King, Michele Lundgren, Meshawn Maddock, James Renner, Mayra Rodriguez, Rose Rook, Marian Sheridan, Ken Thompson, and Kent Vanderwood. James Renner had all his charges dropped after entering into a cooperating agreement .
