Megan Boswell was 18, when she was arrested in February 2020 on charges of filing a false police report. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an AMBER Alert for her 15-month-old daughter Evelyn Boswell on February 19, after she was reported missing on February 18. She had not been seen since December 2019. One report indicated that Evelyn was last seen on December 26. However, a babysitter claimed to have seen her on December 10 or 11 and those dates were more accurate. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced on March 6 that the remains of a 15-month-old believed to be Evelyn Boswell had been found. The remains were found at a property belonging to Megan Boswell's father, brother and grandmother. On August 19, 2020 it was announced that Boswell had been charged with two counts of felony murder. Boswell is facing 19 offenses, including felony murder. She has also been charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, failure to report a death, and 12 counts of making false reports. On July 1, 2021 Evelyn's Law, which requires parents to report missing children within 24 hours, went into effect. |
