Lazaro Pozo Ilias was allegedly drunk when the car he was driving drove through a crosswalk and struck a golf cart. The passenger in the golf cart, 45-year-old Christopher Schulz died. Brian Hovekamp, the driver of the cart was also injured in the August 11, 2019, incident. Lazaro Pozo Ilias allegedly registered a .173 breath alcohol level at the scene and .160 when he was tested about two hours later, which is twice the legal limit. He is charged with Murder, First-degree assault, First-degree wanton endangerment, Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and Driving without a license.
