Brother and sister Karen Murray and Michael Murray are charged with first-degree murder and aggravated neglect of a vulnerable adult in the death of their mother, Sheila Murray who was 68 years old when she died. In August 2019, Sheila died after she was admitted to the hospital. When EMS had gone to the home they reportedly found Sheila Murray lying in a bed wet with urine and with fecal matter on her. She also reportedly had a compound ankle fracture. This prompted a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to look into the circumstances of her death. Investigators determined that Karen and Michael 'were responsible for the abuse and neglect that resulted in her death'. The abuse allegedly occurred between April 4, 2019, and August 10, 2019.
