Jennifer Crumbley is the mother of Ethan Crumbley who was sentenced to life without parole for fatally shooting four fellow students and wounding seven other people at Oxford High School, Michigan. His parents purchased the handgun used in the November 30, 2021 shooting at Oxford High School, apparently as a Christmas gift for their son, and stored it improperly. When called to a meeting by school officials to discuss a disturbing, violent drawing made by their son, the parents did not inquire about the whereabouts of the gun or inform the school that they had recently purchased a gun for him. Both parents were charged and found guilty in connection with the deadly shooting. They were guilty of: Involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin; and Involuntary manslaughter in the death of 16-year-old Tate Myre; and Involuntary manslaughter in the death of 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana; and Involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Justin Shilling. Both parents were also guilty of giving their son a semi-automatic handgun. Both parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, were sentenced to 10-15 years in prison for their role in the school shooting. Jennifer Crumbley is now requesting she be allowed to post bond and be released from prison while her appeal against conviction is pending. |
