Jaycee Wasso, 25, is charged with organized fraud over $50,000 plus numerous theft charges. Wasso, a Florida psychic, persuaded one of her clients, Lin Halfon, to steal more than a million dollars from Halfon's wealthy husband. Halfon took jewelry and wrote several checks from her husband’s accounts and cashed the checks in Tampa and New Jersey. She then handed the cash over to Wasso. Halfon then tried to process a $1 million cashier's check that was in her name and the name of her husband Richard Rappaport, 80. Bank staff rejected the request. She and Wasso were arrested on multiple charges including grand theft from a person 65 or older, organized fraud and conspiracy to commit grand theft from a person 65 years or older. Halfon pleaded guilty to organized fraud of over $50,000, and exploitation of the elderly of over $50,000 and agreed to testify against Wasso.
