James Calvert is accused of killing his ex-wife, Jelena Sriraman, and kidnapping their son in October of 2012. The State have said they intend to seek the death penalty in the case. Calvert is representing himself, and is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. He was also charged with direct contempt of court after a hearing revealed the he hid court exhibits in his cell and lied to the court about their whereabouts.
