Gregory and Brandon Case

Gregory Case and his son Brandon Case charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and shooting into a motor vehicle. They allegedly fired shots at FedEx driver D’Monterrio Gibson on Jan. 24, 2022 in Brookhaven. Gibson was not injured. The chase and gunfire sparked social media complaints of racism in Brookhaven. Gibson was wearing a FedEx uniform and was driving an unmarked van that FedEx had rented when he dropped off a package at a house in Brookhaven. As he was leaving, he noticed a white pickup truck pulling away from another house on the same large lot. Gregory was allegedly the pickup driver and blocked Gibson's path with his pickup truck. Gibson swerved around him and then encountered Brandon who had a gun pointed at the van and was motioning for him to stop. Brandon fired the gun as Gibson drove away, damaging the van and packages inside. The father and son then allegedly then chased Gibson firing more shots at the truck. Gibson said the white pickup chased him to the interstate highway near Brookhaven before ending the pursuit. The defendants surrendered to police on Feb. 1.
