Delawnte Hardy was wanted as the suspect in relation to an attack on his grandmother on June 29. Officers responded to a house in the earl hours of July 4 after receiving information that Delawnte Hardy, wanted for the felonious assault, was inside. Delawnte Hardy exited the home and attempted to flee on a bike before opening fire on officers. Cleveland police officer Jamieson Ritter was shot and killed by Delawnte Hardy who is now charged with aggravated murder.
