The South African Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan is facing fraud allegations. William Mooka, a former vice-president of the association and a long-serving NEC member, opened a criminal case against Jordaan in 2020 supported by affidavits from another former vice president, Lucas Nhlapo, and the association's longest-serving CEO, Dennis Mumble. The allegations are of fraud and theft amounting to R1,3 million. Jordaan is accused of employing a communications company using SAFA's resources without the board's permission to clean up his image following the 2017 allegations by former ANC MP Jennifer Ferguson that he had raped her. |
