Charlton Liner

Charlton Craig Liner is charged with first degree murder and felony murder for the shooting death of his ex-wife Karen Liner in front of her home in Cleveland on January 27, 2025. Karen was on the phone to police dispatch when gunshots were heard. Officers were immediately sent to the scene. Officers arrived to find Karen Liner with a gunshot wound to the head. Surveillance video captured Charlton coming to and from the scene. Jay Collins witnessed Charlton come home and say 'it's done, I killed her'. Collins told police that Charlton asked him to take his guns inside his residence. Collins told police he didn't want the murder weapon in his home so instead set it outside on the tire of a trailer. Charlton was arrested soon after. If convicted Charlton Liner faces a potential life sentence with parole eligibility after 51 years. Police say his father killed his mother and then himself in 2016.
